Got hot flashes and can’t get through the night without soaking the sheets? Not to fear – there are plenty of great sheets designed specifically to wick away moisture and keep sleepers cool and dry while they snooze.

Today we’re looking at some of the best sheets for hot flashes – or for any other reason you may need help keeping cool while you sleep.

What to Look For In Menopause-Friendly Bedding

Keep in mind these factors when hunting for menopause-compatible sheets:

  • Moisture-Wicking Technology. Look for sheets that have moisture-wicking features to move sweat and dampness away from your body.
  • Breathable Fabrics. Opt for breathable natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, eucalyptus, or silk over synthetic materials.
  • Don’t Stress About Thread Count. Many folks incorrectly assume that higher thread count = higher quality, but this isn’t always the case. In fact, the tighter weaving of fabrics can actually make sheets less breathable.
  • Choose Lightweight Coverlets. In addition to heat-friendly sheets, make sure to do away with any down or down-alternative comforters and choose lightweight coverlets or breathable quilts to top off your bed.

  1. Hi there, that’s such an awesome article, thank you! Bamboo cooling sheets are also great to keep cool at night, as bamboo sheets’ cells hold 40% more water than cotton — all this additional water lets us transmit extra heat. Bamboo cells also absorb more moisture (perspiration) than cotton or polyester (11% vs 8% vs 0.4%) for superior breathability. Big cheers from our team at cooling sheets team at Perfect Linens – we love your content!

  3. The article says natural fingers are better, but then the first two sheets advertised are polyester. That’s confusing, inconsistent and seems sloppy.
